Dorchester County to Host Second Set of Open House Meetings to Receive Input on the Comprehensive Plan on February 6-7, 2018

Post Date:01/29/2018 2:36 PM

The Dorchester County Planning & Zoning Department will host the second series of Open House meetings to receive input on the County’s Comprehensive Plan on Tuesday, February 6th and Wednesday, February 7th.

The Comprehensive Plan is a state mandated document that serves as a guide for decision making to help the County reach its preferred future goals.  Community involvement is a vital step in crafting a document that reflects the needs and desires of the community.

Open House Meetings are the perfect opportunity for Dorchester County citizens and business owners to have a direct say in what Dorchester County looks like in the future.  Next week’s Open House meetings are the second set of meetings in a four meeting series. These meetings will focus on the County’s strengths, opportunities and aspirations. Citizens and business owners are invited to attend any of the following meetings:

February 6, 2018:

5:00 PM at the Ridgeville Community Center, 105 School Street, Ridgeville

7:30 PM in the Woodland High School Media Center, 4128 US Hwy. 78, St. George

February 7, 2018:

5:00 PM in the Ashley Ridge High School Media Center, 9800 Delemar Hwy, Summerville

7:30 PM in the Oakbrook Elementary School Cafeteria, 306 Old Fort Drive, Ladson

An online survey will be available on this site, after the meetings, for those who were unable to attend to provide feedback.

The meeting dates/times/locations for the third and fourth set of meetings, in the series, is to be determined.

Results from the first series of meetings are available for review on this site. Note: These results do not include feedback from the online survey. Input provided via the online survey is in the process of being reviewed/tabulated and will be made publicly available as soon as possible.
