Dorchester County Urges Property Owners to Pay Real Property Taxes by March 16th
Dorchester County Treasurer, Cindy L. Chitty and Delinquent Tax Collector, Sidney B. Jones III, remind property owners who have not yet paid their real property and/or mobile home taxes, to do so by Friday, March 16, 2018 to avoid being turned over to the Dorchester County Delinquent Tax Office.
A 10% penalty fee has been added to all tax bills, not paid on or before February 1, 2018. The 10% (past due) penalty fee will increase to 15% on March 17, 2018.
Property owners have until 5:00 PM on Friday, March 16, 2018 to pay taxes online at DorchesterCountyTaxesOnline.com, in-person at both the St. George and Summerville Treasurer’s Offices or by mail to:

All real property and mobile homes taxes not paid prior to 5:00 PM on Friday, March 16, 2018 will be turned over to the Delinquent Tax Office for collection. At which time, all unpaid real property and mobile home tax payments must be paid to the Delinquent Tax Office, located at 201 Johnston Street in St. George, via cash, check, certified funds and/or credit card. Note: Personal checks and/or credit card payments will not be accepted after September 14, 2018.
- An additional $30 fee will be added to all real property bills and an additional $40 fee will be added to all mobile home bills if the taxes, penalties and assessment fees are not paid by 5:00 PM on Friday, April 27, 2018.
- A $25 posting fee will be added to all bills if the taxes, penalties and assessments are not paid by 5:00 PM on Friday, June 29, 2018.
- A $60 advertising cost will be added to all bills if the taxes, penalties and assessments are not paid by 5:00 PM on Friday, September 28, 2018.
The Delinquent Tax Sale will be held on Monday, November 5, 2018. Payments will not be accepted after 5:00 PM on Friday, November 2, 2018.
