Dorchester County Accepting Applications for Summer Youth Employment Program
Dorchester County is accepting applications for the 2018 Summer Youth Employment Program.
The program is designed to provide teenagers and young adults who reside in Dorchester County an opportunity to develop workplace readiness skills, provide exposure to the work world, and gain experience in the operations of County government. There are a wide variety of opportunities within Dorchester County Government in office administration, customer service, and the field of general labor. Departments seeking assistance include the Clerk of Court, Animal Control, Information Technology Systems, Facilities and Maintenance and Human Resources.
Eligible individuals must meet the following criteria:
- Be between the ages of 16 – 22 at the time of application submission.
- Be currently enrolled in high school or college (proof of enrollment is required)
- Be a resident of Dorchester County
- Available to work a minimum of 20 hours, per week
The eight-week program begins on Tuesday, June 12th and ends on Friday, August 3rd. Hours worked are typically 4 hours a day, 5 days a week, 20 hours per week. The application deadline is 5:00 PM on April 22nd or until 40 applications have been received, whichever occurs first.
