Forfeited Land Commission Accepting Sealed Bids
The Dorchester County Forfeited Land Commission (FLC) is accepting sealed bids for mobile homes and land parcels. Sealed Bids will be accepted until 5:00 PM on Tuesday, June 12, 2018.
In accordance with state legislation, the FLC hosts an annual bid sale to dispose of older mobile homes and land, acquired by the County, which did not attract full price bidders during the annual Delinquent Tax Sale.
Bids will be opened publicly on Thursday, June 14, 2018, at 9:00 AM in the Summerville County Council Chambers, located at 500 N. Main St.
All FLC property is sold “as is”, with no warranty expressed or implied. Mobile homes do not include the land the mobile home is sitting on, but does include all contents and attachments.
Photographs, descriptions and the address for each property are available for review on this site as well as the Summerville and St. George Auditor’s Offices.
Sealed bids must be submitted to the Auditor’s St. George Office. Late bids will not be accepted.
FLC Chairwoman, Margaret Bailey, reminds all interested bidders that “while the sale is a great opportunity to acquire property in Dorchester County, the buyer is responsible for all costs incurred for the purchase and subsequent ownership.”
Bidders are advised some homes may be occupied and Dorchester County will not be responsible for evicting the occupants.
