Dorchester County Fire Rescue Responds to Early Morning Fire at Swig & Swine
At 1:38 AM today, Friday, June 22nd, Dorchester County Fire Rescue (DCFR) received an alarm for a structure fire at the Swig & Swine restaurant, near the Town of Summerville. Crews arrived on scene within minutes and found the structure 25% involved with smoke and fire conditions coming from the cooking/smoke room area of the structure.
Twenty-three fire rescue personnel from DCFR and Summerville Fire Rescue (SFR) responded and had the fire under control in twenty minutes. Dorchester County Fire Chief, Tres Atkinson said, “it was a seamless operation and is evident of the continued success of the Automatic Aid Agreement between DCFR and SFR.” Atkinson added, “both departments are to be commended for their teamwork and continued commitment to providing the highest quality of fire service.”
The Dorchester County Sherriff’s Office and EMS also responded to the scene. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
