Voter Registration Deadline and Absentee Voting for the 2018 General Election
The Dorchester County Board of Elections & Voter Registration reminds residents of the October 17th deadline to register to vote in the 2018 General Election.
For the convenience of the voters, multiple registration options are available:
- In-person at the Dorchester County Voter Registration Office located at 201 Johnston Street, St. George, SC 29477, during normal business hours.
- Register online at scVOTES.org
- Register using the My scVOTES mobile app, available in the Apple and Google Play stores.
- Download a voter registration form from scVOTES.org. Complete and return the form to the Dorchester County Voter Registration office, before midnight on Wednesday, October 17th:
Voters are also reminded that they must re-register if they have changed counties or moved since the last election. To confirm their voter registration is correct, voters can visit scvotes.org and click Check My Registration.
Absentee voting will begin on Monday, October 8th – Monday, November 5th at the Voter Registration office located at 201 Johnston Street, St. George, SC 29477. Absentee voting will be available between the hours of 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday and from 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 27th.
Beginning Monday, October 22nd – Friday, November 2nd, residents can vote absentee, between the hours of 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday at the Dorchester County Adult Education Office located at 1325-A Boone Hill Road in Summerville.
A valid photo ID must be presented to vote absentee in-person or on Election Day.
