Dorchester County to Hold Annual Delinquent Tax Sale on Monday, November 5, 2018

The Dorchester County Delinquent Tax Collector will hold the Annual Delinquent Tax Sale on Monday, November 5, 2018.

The Annual Sale will begin at 10:00 AM in the St. George County Council Chambers located at 201 Johnston Street. If the sale is not concluded by 3:00 PM on November 5th, it will continue at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, November 6th and subsequent days (as needed) in the same location and time until all properties are sold.

Properties will be sold in the following order: 1) Real Property, 2) Mobile Homes and in alphabetical order according to the owner’s last name or business name.

Payment of Delinquent Taxes Prior to Sale

All real property and mobile homes with delinquent taxes are subject to sale. To avoid the sale, all delinquent taxes, assessments, penalties and cost must be received and processed by Dorchester County Delinquent Tax Office prior to 5:00 PM on Friday, November 2, 2018.

Cash, money order and cashier’s check are the only accepted forms of payment for delinquent taxes.

Bidder Registration and Payment

Bidders may register to bid in the Delinquent Tax Office, during normal business hours, beginning on Monday, October 29th through Friday, November 2nd, or the day of the sale from 9:00 - 10:00 AM, in the St. George County Council Chambers. There will be no bidder registration after the sale has begun.

Payment must be made in full via cash, cashier’s check, or money order. Personal checks, debit cards and/or credit cards are not accepted forms of payment for bids made at the tax sale.
