ServiceMaster of Charleston Donates 240 Lifesaving Smoke Alarms to Dorchester County Fire Rescue
On Tuesday, February 19, 2019, ServiceMaster of Charleston donated two-hundred and forty lifesaving smoke alarms to Dorchester County Fire Rescue (DCFR) in support of the department's mission to ensure that every home in Dorchester County has one.
Since the department was formed in 2013, DCFR has installed over 5,000 smoke alarms in homes in Dorchester County.
Dorchester County Fire Chief, Tres Atkinson said “we are proud to continue the lifesaving mission of installing smoke alarms at no charge to our residents.” Atkinson added, “My sincerest thank you to the amazing team at ServiceMaster of Charleston for their generous donation and continued support of DCFR.”
All Dorchester County residents can request a smoke alarm be installed in their home by completing the online request form and/or by contacting Dorchester County Fire Rescue at (843) 563-0214.
Note: Residents who live in the municipal limits of the City of North Charleston or the Town of Summerville should contact their respective departments, who operate similar programs.
