Water Service Will Be Temporarily Unavailable to 241 Homes in the McKewn Subdivision for System Upgrades

May 24, 2019:

The Boil Water Advisory that was issued for McKewn Plantation following upgrades to the water system has been repealed.


May 22, 2019: 

The upgrades to the water system in McKewn Plantation originally planned for Wednesday, May 15, 2019, has been rescheduled for Thursday, May 23, 2019.

Please be advised that beginning at 10:00 AM, tomorrow, Thursday, May 23, 2019, the Dorchester County Water & Sewer Department will temporarily turn off water service to approximately 241 homes in the McKewn Subdivision in the City of North Charleston, for system upgrades.

The water will remain off for approximately 2 hours while the upgrades are made.

When the water supply is restored, customers are advised to boil their water vigorously for at least one (1) full minute before drinking or cooking. Also, any ice made from water which has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes. Notification will be given as soon as the boil water advisory has been lifted.

Residents in the above-mentioned area are asked to contact the Dorchester County Water & Sewer Department at (843) 832-0075 or (843) 563-0075 with any/all questions. 


May 14, 2019:

10:00 PM Update:

The system upgrades in McKewn Plantation have been postponed. A new notice will be issued at a later date.

4:00 PM:
