Dorchester County to Hold Delinquent Tax Sale on Monday, November 18

The Dorchester County Delinquent Tax Collector will hold the Annual Delinquent Tax Sale on Monday, November 18, 2019.

The Annual Sale will begin at 10:00 AM in the Willie R. Davis Council Chambers located at 201 Johnston Street in St. George. If the sale is not concluded by 3:00 PM on November 18, it will continue at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, November 19 and subsequent days (as needed) in the same location and time until all properties are sold.

Properties will be sold in the following order: 1) Real Property, 2) Mobile Homes and in alphabetical order according to the owner’s last name or business name.


Payment of Delinquent Taxes Prior to Sale

All real property and mobile homes with delinquent taxes are subject to sale. To avoid the sale, all delinquent taxes, assessments, penalties and cost must be received and processed by the Dorchester County Delinquent Tax Office prior to 5:00 PM on Friday, November 15.

Cash, money order and cashier’s check are the only accepted forms of payment for delinquent taxes.


Bidder Registration and Payment

Bidders may register to bid in the Delinquent Tax Office, during normal business hours, beginning on Tuesday, November 12 through Friday, November 15, or the day of the sale from 9:00 - 10:00 AM, in the Willie R. Davis Council Chambers. There will be no bidder registration after the sale has begun.

Payment must be made in full via cash, cashier’s check, or money order. Personal checks, debit cards and/or credit cards are not accepted forms of payment for bids made at the tax sale.
