Dorchester County Fire Rescue Responds to Structure Fire near Summerville

At 10:41 AM on Saturday, December 21 Dorchester County Fire Rescue (DCFR) received an alarm for a structure fire at 1223 Wild Goose Trail in the Drakesborough Subdivision in unincorporated Dorchester County, near Summerville.

DCFR and Summerville Fire Rescue arrived on-scene within minutes and found a two-story residential home with smoke and fire conditions coming from the first floor of the structure. 

The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office and Dorchester County EMS also responded to the scene.

No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Dorchester County Fire Chief, Tres Atkinson reminds residents to ensure they have, working, lifesaving smoke alarms in their residence. All Dorchester County residents can request a (free) smoke alarm be installed in their home by completing the online request form and/or by contacting Dorchester County Fire Rescue at (843) 563-0214.
