Dorchester County Community Services Office Closed to the Public

As a result of a possible COVID-19 exposure and out of an abundance of caution, the lobby to the Dorchester County Planning & Zoning, Building Services, Neighborhood Services, and Business License offices located at 500 N. Main St. will be closed for the remainder of the week for cleaning and sanitizing. As of now, the lobby is scheduled to reopen to the public on Monday, June 29, 2020. Note: The reopening date is subject to change.

Planning & Zoning, Building Services, Neighborhood Services and Business License staff will be available to assist residents and business owners via phone and email, during normal business hours.

Payments will be accepted via a drop box located at the entrance to the building, during normal business hours. However, the appropriate department must be contacted prior to placing a payment in the drop box. Dorchester County is not responsible for lost or stolen payments.

For the safety of the citizens of Dorchester County as well as staff, Dorchester County encourages the use of the County’s online Permitting, Inspection and Licensing Portal. Once you have created an account, you will be able to submit for permits, request inspections and pay fees through the Evolve Portal.

Confirmed Cases of COVID-19 Continue to Rise

As of 12:00 PM today, Wednesday, June 24 the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Services (SCDHEC) confirmed there are 240 active cases of COVID-19 in Dorchester County.

The total number of cases reported in Dorchester County is 452. Cases are removed from SCDHEC’s (current/active) count 14 days after they are confirmed.

The above are only the confirmed case numbers. SCDHEC estimates the true number of cases in Dorchester County to be upwards of 2,777. These numbers will continue to rise if we do not remain vigilant and stop the spread of germs


Mobile Testing Sites

Dorchester County and Fetter Health have partnered to offer additional mobile testing sites.

Testing will be available between the hours of 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM tomorrow, Thursday, June 25 at Faith Assembly of God located at 3001 Landing Parkway, North Charleston.

Testing will also be available between the hours of 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM on Friday, June 26 at Old Fort Baptist Church located at 10505 Dorchester Road, Summerville.

Each site will be accessible for walk-up and drive-thru testing. Note: These are diagnostic/viral testing sites only. They will not be testing for antibodies.

To avoid a long wait time please visit FetterCOVID19Screening.org or call 1-800-365-7410 to be pre-screened and have your code ready when you arrive at a testing site.
