Dorchester County received an allocation of $19,988 under the FY 2025 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program Local Solicitation (Direct Award) from the US Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance.  This program furthers the Department’s mission by assisting state, local and tribal efforts to prevent or reduce crime and violence.  The Sheriff’s Office plans to use these funds towards the enhancement of the Guardian Forensics archive storage and Inseyets Limited Unlocks subscription of 40 digital device unlocks to improve analysis and evidentiary storage of locked and/or encrypted devices.
