The Dorchester County Board of Elections and Voter Registration reminds voters who would like to participate in the Saturday, February 29, 2020 Democratic Presidential Primary Election of the upcoming deadlines.
To be eligible to vote in the primary election all voters must be registered to vote on or before Thursday, January 30, 2020.
Residents can register to vote:

Residents who wish to vote by fax or email should download a voter registration form, complete and return the form to the Dorchester County Voter Registration office by Thursday, January 30, 2020.
Voters who wish to register by mail can mail the completed voter registration form to the below address.

Note: All applications submitted via mail must be postmarked by Thursday, January 30, 2020.
Voters are also reminded that they must re-register if they have changed counties or moved since the last election. To confirm their voter registration is correct, voters can visit scvotes.org and select Check My Registration.
Residents who wish to vote in-person absentee may do so beginning Thursday, January 30, 2020 - Friday, February 28, 2020 at the Dorchester County Elections and Voter Registration Office located at 201 Johnston Street in St. George. Absentee voting will only be available at this location between the hours of 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday.

The request must be made no later than Tuesday, February 18 and may be submitted by the voter or the voter's immediate relative. The deadline to return the absentee application is 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 25. The last day a ballot will be mailed to the voter is Tuesday, February 25.
All ballots must be received by the Dorchester County Election Commission no later than 7:00 PM on Election Day.
