The deadline to register to vote in the June 2018 Primary Election has passed. However, residents who have not registered/updated their registration are encouraged to do so by October 7, 2018 to be eligible to vote in the November 6, 2018 General Election.

Note: Voters must register again if they have changed counties or moved since the past election.

Absentee Voting

Absentee voting is available through Monday, June 11th at the Voter Registration office located at 201 Johnston Street, St. George, SC 29477. Absentee voting will be available between the hours of 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with the exception of Memorial Day (Monday, May 28th).

A valid photo ID must be presented to vote absentee in person or on Election Day.

Old Fort Baptist Church 

Please be advised that if your regular polling location is Old Fort Baptist Church, you will vote at Dorchester Presbyterian Church located at 10290 Dorchester Road.

This temporary change is in effect for the following Elections only:

  • Statewide Primary – June 12, 2018
  • Statewide Primary Runoff (If Necessary) – June 26, 2018

You will return to your regular polling location, Old Fort Baptist Church, for the Statewide General Election on November 6, 2018.

Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church of Summerville

The polling location for residents of the below neighborhoods has been permanently changed from Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church of Summerville to Grace Lutheran located at 1600 Old Trolley Road, beginning June 12, 2018:

  • Irongate
  • Wellington Place
  • Evergreen


Unofficial results will be announced via this website and social media, as they become available. Follow Dorchester County Government on Facebook and Twitter for updates.

Results of all county primaries will be certified by the Dorchester County Board of Elections at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 14, 2018. Any necessary run-off elections will be announced at that time.

Results of all state and federal primaries will be certified by the State Board of Canvassers at 3:00 PM on Friday, June 15, 2018. Any necessary run-off elections will be announced at that time.
