Dorchester County does not endorse any candidate or question on the November 5 ballot.
Register to Vote
The deadline to register to vote for the November 5 Election was Sunday, October 6.
Voters are reminded that they should have re-registered if they have moved since the last election. To confirm their voter registration is correct, voters can visit scvotes.org and select Check My Registration. Note: The address on the voter's photo ID must match the address on their voter registration in order to vote.
In-Person Absentee Voting
Residents can vote In-Person Absentee at the Dorchester County Elections and Voter Registration Office located at 201 Johnston Street in St. George beginning Monday, October 7, 2019 - Monday, November 4, 2019. Absentee voting will only be available at this location between the hours of 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday.
Residents can vote In-Person Absentee at the Adult Learning Center located at 1325 Boonehill Road in Summerville beginning Monday, October 28, 2019 - Friday, November 1, 2019. Absentee voting will only be available at this location between the hours of 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
Residents can vote In-Person Absentee at the Community Center located at 9006 Dorchester Road in North Charleston beginning Monday, October 28, 2019 - Friday, November 1, 2019. Absentee voting will only be available at this location between the hours of 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Voters that wish to vote absentee by mail may request an absentee application:

This request may be submitted by the voter or the voter's immediate relative.
The request must be made no later than Friday, October 25, 2019.
The deadline to return the absentee application is 2:00 PM on Friday, November 1, 2019. The last day a ballot will be mailed to the voter is Friday, November 1, 2019.
All ballots must be received by Dorchester County Election Commission no later than 7:00 PM on Election Day.

Dorchester County voters can view their sample ballot using the below link. Ballots will differ based on the address of the voter. The ballot for voters in unincorporated Dorchester County will only include the Count referendum questions. The ballots for voters who live in municipalities will have the referendum questions and the elections for their respective city/town offices.
Notice of Public Test
The Dorchester County Board of Elections & Voter Registration will hold a Public Test of the Ballot Tabulating Equipment (DS200) for the upcoming November 5, 2019 General Election. This test will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday October 30, 2019 at the County Elections Warehouse located at 235 Deming Way in Summerville. All interested persons are welcome to attend.
