The Risk Management & Safety (RMS) Department is responsible for:

• Identifying and managing risks in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the county.
• Protecting employees by promoting the county’s safety program.
• Handling workers’ compensation and property & liability insurance claims.
• Conducting driver and safety training.
• Administering the county’s Drug-Free Workplace Policy.  
• Insuring county assets and maintaining the county’s insurance policies.
• Reducing the frequency, severity, and associated cost of claims.
