It is preferred that all public records requests be submitted electronically to the Dorchester County Public Information Office via the online form.  

However, written/typed requests may also be submitted via US Mail to the below address or via fax to (843) 563-0137.

Under Section 30-4-30(C) of South Carolina Law:

Allow a minimum of ten (10) business days excluding weekends and observed holidays for a response to a request for records that are two years old, or less. 

Allow a minimum of twenty (20) business days excluding weekends and observed holidays for a response to a request for records that are more than two years old.
