Special Notice: Tropical Storm Irma Debris 

Due to Tropical Storm Irma, Dorchester County has extended its hours of operation at its two (2) yard waste collection sites. Due to the minimal impacts of the storm, Dorchester County will not be collecting debris at the curb. Residents should contact their hauler or private contractor for pickup and removal or they can take it to a Dorchester County yard waste collection site.

Sandy Pines Site, 374 Sandy Pines Road Dorchester SC

Miles Jamison Road Site, 130 Suburban Lane, Summerville SC

Until further notice, hours of operation for these sites shall be Monday through Saturday 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM. During this period, restrictions on trailer length and truck and trailer combinations have been suspended.

Limbs should be no more than 10-12 inches in diameter and not more than 4-6 feet in length. Oversized limbs, tree trunks and stumps will not be accepted.

“Contractor use is strictly forbidden and will result in civil penalties."

Dorchester County Residents can depose of leaves, shrubs, and tree limbs at the Miles Jamison Road Convenience Site or the Sandy Pines Convenience Site.

Limbs taken to these sites must be no more than 8-10 inches in diameter and not more than 4 feet in length. 

Yard Debris not meeting these requirements can be taken to the Carolina Waste Landfill at 355 Harrison Rd, Dorchester, SC for a nominal disposal fee. 

Hours of Operations:

Miles Jamison Road Site is open on Tuesdays & Thursdays (excluding holidays) from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Sandy Pines Site is open on Tuesdays & Thursdays (excluding holidays) from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. 

Convenience Sites are closed for the following Holidays:

  • New Year's Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Fourth of July
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas
